product description
Rippon "Emma's Block" Mature Vine Pinot Noir 2019
Reviews
James Suckling (JamesSuckling.com): 98/100. Aromas of rose with leaves and some red fruit such as cranberries and plums. Hibiscus. Bright. Medium body with linear mouthfeel of driven acidity that folds in nicely in the palate. Subtle, juicy and seductive. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
Erin Larkin, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 95/100.The 2019 Emma's Block Mature Vine Pinot Noir is alive on the nose - energy abounds. In the mouth, the wine is lively and lithe, with equal helpings of al dente red fruits and grey spice. The telltale texture through the finish of the 2020 is here in spades - it is sleek without being polished or made and effortless. It’s like the wet coat of an otter. Drink Date: 2023 - 2035.
Tasting note
Complex aromas of cranberries, ripe strawberries, smoke and dried flowers with hints of mushrooms. Full-bodied with chewy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. This is powerful and structured, with seriousness all around.
