The stunningly beautiful Rippon Vineyard is situated on the shores of Lake Wanaka, with views across the lake to Ruby Island and the magnificent snow-capped peaks of the Buchannan Mountains. Here, truly great wine is produced by one of the Central Otago viticulture pioneers. The sense of place is also mirrored in the deep care for the environment.

With maturing vines and a truly favourable year for Gewurztraminer, this wine speaks with real accuracy and pride of its place. This, along with slow, whole bunch pressings, wild ferments and extended lees contact, has resulted in a wine which is defined by remarkable grace and clarity.

A Central Otago and indeed New Zealand benchmark. The farm voice of a distinct parcel of land: Rippon. On the western board of Roy's Bay, Lake Wanaka, Rippon's north-facing escarpment forms the meeting point of terminal moraines and coarse gravels, all based in schist, on which some of the region's earliest vines were planted. A wine issued from all of the fully developed Pinot Noir vines growing in this land.

Last bottle. Detailed, sleek, fine, glide, animated femininity. From a unique parcel within Rippon, Emma's Block faces eastward on the lakefront where ancient clay reefs run laterally through fine schist gravels. Made by one of New Zealand's top producers.
