Framingham Nobody's Hero Sauvignon Blanc 2022
Accolades
NZ Wine Rater (Steve Bennett MW, Lynette Hudson): 93/100. Gorgeously pungent, lifted, youthful bouquet in a classic Marlborough style with aromas of passionfruit flower, gooseberry, nettles, Thai basil and lemongrass. Clean, crisp, lighter style, with zingy freshness and a soft, appealing texture. A 'complete' wine that offers delicious drinking from go-to-whoa.
Cameron Douglas MS: 93/100. Vibrant, pungent and classic bouquet with flavours of fresh citrus and apple flesh, some grapefruit, herb and spice moments. Loaded with minerality and a back bone of acidity that enhances a herbaceous quality and delivers a decent mouthful of flavour and texture. Well-made and ready to drink from late 2022 through 2025.
Bob Campbell, MW (The Real Review): 93/100 & Top Value. Moderately intense sauvignon with tropical fruit, passionfruit, guava, pineapple, lemongrass and green capsicum flavours. Crisp, punchy wine.
Tasting Note
Bright aromatics with hints of feijoa, kiwi fruit, gooseberry and ripe, citrus tones. Distinctive green capsicum on the palate backs up an array of tropical fruit. The wine is dry, with a mouth-watering line of fine acid and flavoursome length.
