Reviews & accolades
Marlborough Wine Show 2025: Gold.
Cameron Douglas MS: 94/100. An intriguing bouquet of lees and fresh pomaceous fruits, some barrel ferment scents and flavours, a gentle creamy smoke and earth layer then some familiar topical and citrus flavours. Crisp and just dry with a satin touch, delicious mouthwatering and lengthy. A wine to just enjoy on its own or with seafood dishes. Best from 2025 through 2028.
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit: 94/100. Complex, and enticing, the bouquet presents notes of apricot, Granny Smith apple, oatmeal,
and cedar. It’s concentrated and richly textured in the mouth, delivering an expansive mouthfeel,
backed by beautifully integrated acidity, making it flavoursome and highly appealing. At its best:
now to 2030.
Senior Editor Jacobo García Andrade
for JamesSuckling.com: 90/100. Gooseberries and grapefruit are complemented by a fresh herbal note. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, featuring bright acidity and a generous volume of fruit.
New Zealand International Wine Show 2025: Silver.
Tasting Note
The 2024 Nuala Reserve presents an elegant and complex profile that sets it apart from standard Sauvignon Blancs. The bouquet is refined, offering notes of white flowers, pineapple, peach and preserved citrus. Subtle toast notes from the oak integration and a hint of mineral character add a sophisticated layer to the aromatics. On the palate, this wine is dense and enticing. It is highly textured, featuring layers of white peach and white flowers supported by a freshening acidity. The lees aging in French oak foudres and barrels provide a creamy weight and a long, elegant finish.

Additional information
Type: White wine
Grape variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
Food match: Excellent on its own or paired with the last of the summer’s produce. It complements creamy seafood dishes, roasted poultry, or dishes featuring grilled stone fruits and goat cheese.
Vineyard: Single vineyard, Wairau Valley, Marlborough, New Zealand.
Soil type: warm, free-draining gravelly soils
Growing season: The 2024 harvest in Marlborough saw exceptional conditions. A mild spring and excellent flowering were followed by a warm, dry summer, contributing to optimal vine health. These conditions allowed for a smooth harvest with excellent acid retention in the grapes. The 2024 vintage is anticipated to be one of the best in recent years, showcasing the region's renowned terroir.
Winemaking: Hand-picked fruit was whole-bunch pressed and cold-settled overnight. The wine underwent partial fermentation in French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks using wild indigenous yeast. It was then aged on lees in 20% new French oak barrels (1/3 228l, 1/3 500l) and 1/3 foudres (1500l) for 10 months before blending. A partial malolactic fermentation was allowed to add texture and balance the acidity.
