Based on the German Mosel style of Spatlese, Framingham Select Riesling conveys the very purity of the grape under Andrew Brown's masterful stewardship. Delicate and light on its feet, with naturally low
alcohol and great tension between residual sugar and acidity.

Framingham Select Riesling 2025
Reviews
Cameron Douglas MS: 94/100. An excellent bouquet and palate with scents and flavours of honeysuckle and mandarin, fleshy and ripe red apple then sweet grapefruit. A seam of wet stone minerality and salinity weave through the palate with each new taste. Off dry with a back bone of acidity and persistent fruit flavours. Well made with best drinking from day of purchase through 2031+
Tasting Note
Framingham Select Riesling is inspired by the classic German "Spätlese" style. A subtle, layered aromatic profile with suggestions of orange citrus, and honeysuckle. Concentrated and elegant palate with orange citrus and some mineralic pithy like textures. A tense, weightless, and juicy finish.

The beauty of Riesling: The Riesling grape is perhaps the most versatile of all, and can be interpreted in a number of different styles around the world from bone-dry to lusciously sweet. The German Spätlese style is the inspiration for Framingham Select Riesling. Marlborough's combination of stony soil and cool climate provides regionally distinctive, delicate Riesling flavours which develop slowly during the growing season, as well as a good acid backbone, which is essential to this style. This is a relatively limited production wine, and, although approachable on release, is a suitable candidate for long-term ageing in the cellar for those who enjoy the more complex flavours of bottle aged Riesling.
Wine making: Fruit for this wine was selectively hand harvested from two small parcels within the "Front Black" on the 1 April at between 20.30-21.0 Brix. Carefully selected golden-hued bunches were harvested by hand and gently whole-bunch pressed. The juice was fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks using a neutral yeast strain to preserve site expression and vineyard transparency. Fermentation was stopped once the desired balance between sweetness and acidity was achieved. The wine then spent five months on light lees before being lightly fined, filtered, and bottled in October 2025.
