Quartz Reef Bendigo Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018

Reviews

Kritiker über Quartz Reef Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018Cameron Douglas MS: 94/100. Complex, varietal and layered bouquet with aromas of red berries and dried herb, a mix of oak spices and mineral with thyme, clove and a touch of rose. Satin texture on the palate gives way to firm youthful tannins and medium+ acidity. A core of rasberry and red cherry flavours, sweet oak and wild forest flowers. Balanced, fresh, youthful and very tasty. Best drinking from 2021 through 2027+.

Kritiker über Quartz Reef Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018James Suckling (JamesSuckling.com): 94/100. Always intense and ripe, this has a mix of red-cherry, dark-cherry, currant and black-tea aromas with a dusting of spice and earthy, sappy aromas, as well as violets. The palate has a super fresh, layered and succulent feel with such juicy, soft and supple tannins, wrapped into a smooth framework. Vibrant finish. Drink or hold.

Kritiker über Quartz Reef Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018Bob Campbell, MW: 93/100.

Kritiker über Quartz Reef Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018Michael Cooper:  5 stars & WINE CLASSIC. ... the extremely graceful 2018 vintage (5*) was estate-grown at Bendigo, hand-picked and matured for a year in French oak barriques. Deep ruby, it is sweet-fruited and vibrant, with rich cherry, plum, spice and nut flavours, complex and finely poised, and an enticingly scented bouquet. Best drinking 2022+.

Bewertung Quartz Reef Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018Joe Czerwinski, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 92+/100. The 2018 Single Vineyard Pinot Noir is a terrific effort, marrying attractive floral and tea-like aromas with bright raspberry and cherry fruit. It's medium to full-bodied but seems lighter and fresher because the flesh is wrapped within a sleeve of crisp acids, containing and buttressing it, focusing it into a prolonged finish. Despite the warm vintage, this is impeccably balanced, with the ability to age well for a decade. Drinking 2020-2030.

Tasting note

Divine ruby red in colour with intense cherry and berry aromas. Rich on the palate with dark cherry, subtle spice, floral and herbaceous notes. Excellent depth, fine tannins and a long vibrant finish.
