product description
Neudorf Tiritiri Sauvignon Blanc 2019
Reviews
Decanter: 94/100 (25 of the best New Zealand wines for spring). An enticing, mineral, floral then varietal bouquet with aromas of silica and clay soil, rosé, peach and sweet lemon. There's a soft herb layer adding finesse and complexity. Youthful, crisp, refreshing and dry palate, with a gentle saline note and flavours of lemon, peach and barley sugar before more soft sage-like herbs return. Drinking Window 2021 - 2025
Bob Campbell, MW: 93/100. A rather serious than showy sauvignon blanc (always looking for alliteration opportunities) with concentrated melon, apple and citrus flavours that dominate an array of more subtle notes (try ginger and roasted nut). A good food wine.
James Suckling (JamesSuckling.com): 92/100 This has attractively exotic guava and lime with fresh-herb notes, too. The palate is concentrated and has sturdy textural presence with lime and green mango, as well as some white peach. Drink now.
Tasting note
On the nose a bouquet of bright blossom, gooseberry, fresh herbs, pineapple, golden kiwi, grapefruit and apple. The feel across the palate is poised, succulent, bracing and sophisticated. This Sauvignon exudes restraint. It is youthful, refreshing and textural, alluring and moreish.
