Framingham Pinot Gris draws inspiration stylistically from the Alsace region of France. Framingham focuses heavily on the texture of the wine, picking grapes late to give it some inherent richness and using seasoned wood and lees aging to enhance the mouthfeel.

Framingham Pinot Gris 2020
Accolades
Reviews for the Framingham Pinot Gris 2020:
Cameron Douglas MS: 93/100 Excellent. Pure, fresh and ripe white fleshed aromas of green pear and apple, honeysuckle, a touch of quince and wet river stone mineral moments. Fresh, crisp and just dry on the palate. A core of fruit flavours mirror the nose plus a cool climate citrus flesh moment, plenty of acidity and a satin texture. Perfectly balanced in a dry- finish, well made and ready. Best drinking from 2021 through 2024. An excellent wine for food pairing.
James Suckling (JamesSuckling.com): 92/100. Sliced apples, white flowers, mango stone and a touch of vanilla custard on the nose. It’s full-bodied with crisp acidity. Creamy, layered and delicious with hints of spice and apple pie. Lightly off-dry. Drink now.
Decanter: 92/100. (Tasted by Tina Gellie (at Lindley Hall, London, 04 May 2022)Part of New Zealand Pinot Gris: best buys under £20). Framingham's Rieslings are among New Zealand's best and that Alsace style extends to this classy Pinot Gris. Partially fermented in large-format old oak vessels before seven months on lees, it is concentrated and weighty – like honeyed peaches and cream in a sweet pastry case – cut through by bright, cleansing acidity. Drinking Window 2022 – 2025.
Tasting Note
Aromatics are reminiscent of pear, apple, dried apricot, and nougat. Intense, richly textured palate with stone fruit, and custard flavours with a good line of acidity and vivid clarity.
