Reviews for the Framingham Classic Riesling 2020
Global Fine Wine Challenge: Gold
Cameron Douglas MS: 95/100 (Excellent). Fresh, ripe and enticing bouquet of green apple and white peach, sweet lemon, and cold wet stone mineral. An off-dry wine bursting with flavours fresh juicy tree and citrus fruits, some cold peach and lemon tea and rosehip. No mistaking refreshing acid line flooding the palate with flavours that reflect the bouquet. A delicious wine ready as an aperitif or with gently spicy first courses that are seafood or salad based. Best drinking from purchase and through 2028+.
NZ Wine Rater (Steve Bennett MW, Lynette Hudson): 93/100. Fresh, lifted, exotic bouquet with an array of characters from subtle white lilies and wet stones through to riper notes of golden delicious apples, mandarin and tropical fruits. Clean, pure, tasty fruit flavours come through on the palate with a taut, salivating acid structure and lingering finish. Generous and pleasing wine.
James Suckling (JamesSuckling.com): 91/100. Aromas of nectarines, lemon curd, dried mango and chamomile. It’s full-bodied with sharp acidity and a honeyed, rounded palate. Excellent balance between acidity, concentration and sweetness, leading to a fresh finish. Off-dry. Drink now or hold
Tasting Note
Aromatics are reminiscent of mandarin pith, gin and tonic, and old school lemonade. Vibrant, intense, focused palate with orange, Meyer lemon, and stone fruit flavours held together by good line of juicy acidity and elegant texture.
