Reviews

review Burn Cottage Moonlight Race Pinot Noir 2018Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier: 94/100. Complex yet subtle, earthy before fruity, floral before oaky, totally varietal and completely captivating. On the palate - dry, tense, fruity, youthful, lighter on it feet, but loaded with varietal signatures of dried herb and red berry fruits, fine tannins and medium+ acidity, mineral and earth layers, nicely complex and nothing overdone. Balanced and well made. Drink now and through 2025.

review Burn Cottage Moonlight Race Pinot Noir 2018Bob Campbell, MW: 94/100. Seductive and accessible pinot noir with ripe cherry, fresh herb, plum, spice, thyme, roasted chestnut and nutty oak flavours.

review Burn Cottage Moonlight Race Pinot Noir 2018MaryAnn Worobiec, Wine Spectator: 93/100. Appealing for its density and delineated structure up front, yet notes of kirsch, raspberry and five-spice powder are generous and plush, with hints of cedar, gunpowder and dried lavender appearing on the long finish. Drink now through 2036.

review Burn Cottage Moonlight Race Pinot Noir 2018Michael Cooper: 5 stars & Treat of the Month. This seductive red was estate-grown at Burn Cottage's sites at Lowburn and Bannockburn, and matured in French oak casks (19 per cent new). Perfumed, mouthfilling and supple, it has deep, well-ripened plum, spice and nut flavours, gentle tannins and a silky-textured finish. A very harmonious red that caresses your mouth, it’s already delicious.

Tasting Note:

Wonderful savoury and herb tones, supported by spice, red fruit, plums, pepper, and mineral complexity. Supple and elegant, the wine is focused with a lovely freshness with fine smooth tannins extending the palate.
