Reviews and accolades

New vintage with no reviews yet. Review for Ata Rangi Lismore Pinot Gris 2019:

Review Ata Rangi Lismore Pinot GrisBob Campbell, MW: 95/100. Pinot gris perfection. Rich, creamy and smooth-textured pinot gris, with ripe pear and baked apple flavours together with a subtle seasoning of clove and anise. An appealing wine in a dry style and supported by gentle acidity.

Tasting Note

Exotic aromas of pear and pink grapefruit, blend with pineapple and apple cake. The palate is smooth and velvety with flavours of nutmeg, lemon custard and hints of beeswax. The finish has a citrus pith, textural feel that keeps it fresh, with pastry savoury notes.

Winemaking: From vines over 23 years of age, the depth and complexity of flavour make it one of our favourite food and wine matching choices, especially for anything with heady spice and/or challenging flavours. Fermented in neutral barrels for extra texture, this Pinot Gris will benefit from bottle age. Fruit hand-picked and whole bunch pressed. Juice cold settled. A combination of ferments in small stainless tanks and 500 litre oak puncheons; in both cases left on lees for several months. Native yeast. No malolactic fermentation.

Cellaring potential: 2027

Closure: Screwcap

Produced and bottled by: Ata Rangi Vineyard, PO Box 43, Martinborough 5741, New Zealand
