Der Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc zeigt in der Nase eine bezaubernde Kombination aus verschiedenen, raffinierten Aromen: Cassis, Pfirsich, Birne, Ananas, Mango, Zitronensorbet und Nektarine. Sie verbinden sich mit dem Duft von Holunderblüte. Am Gaumen ist der Wein trocken, saftig und frisch.

Winestate: 98/100. This fresh, highly aromatic wine was grown in the central Wairau Valley and Southern Valleys, and mostly handled in tanks, with some indigenous yeast fermentation in old oak barrels. Full-bodied, it is very lively, with concentrated, ripely herbaceous flavours, a touch of complexity, and a crisp, dry, lasting finish. Best drinking mid-2023+.

Bob Campbell, MW (The Real Review): 95/100. Rated as #4 out of 110 in Top 2022 Marlborough Sauvignon Blancs. One of the best sauvignons from the 2022 vintage I have yet tasted. It is ripe, concentrated, pure, and has impressive underlying power. Passionfruit, melon, guava and struck flint flavours are some of the more obvious descriptors.

NZ Wine Rater (Steve Bennett MW, Lynette Hudson): 95/100. Complex, characterful, yet understated bouquet with subtle aromas of gooseberry, grapefruit, passionfruit, wet stones and bouquet garni with flinty, smoky, struck-match complexity. An elegant, taut, well-defined, mineral style with complexity, and a fine, flinty, saline finish. It has a stamp of 'class' about it.

Decanter: 94/100 (Tasted by Tasted by: Tina Gellie (at Lindley Hall, London, 07 Feb 2023)). With 25 years at Cloudy Bay, Kevin Judd was key to the global renown of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Today his Greywacke wines (particularly the Wild Sauvignon) are standard bearers in their own right. This elegant, textural vintage brims with zippy pineapple sorbet, elderflower blossom and green mango freshness, with bracing lime acidity and a creamy passionfruit curd finish. Weinbereitung: Die Trauben für den Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc 2022 wurden nur sanft gepresst und anschließend zum grössten Teil in Edelstahltanks kaltvergoren. Der kleinere Teil vergor mit Wildhefe in alten Eichenfässern. Beides lagerte auf dem Hefebett und wurde Ende Juni zusammengeführt. Mitte August in Flaschen abgefüllt.
