Der Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc zeigt in der Nase eine bezaubernde Kombination aus verschiedenen, raffinierten Aromen: Cassis, Pfirsich, Apfel, Mango, Melone, Zitronensorbet und Nektarine. Sie verbinden sich mit dem Duft von Apfelblüte. Am Gaumen ist der Wein trocken, saftig und frisch.

Winestate: 98/100 & Best Wines of 2022. This classy wine was grown at sites in the Central Wairau Valley and Southern Valleys, and partly fermented with indigenous yeasts in old oak barrels. Full-bodied, it is vibrantly fruity, with concentrated, ripe passionfruit/lime flavours, savoury notes adding complexity, fresh acidity and a persistent finish

NZ Wine Rater (Steve Bennett MW, Lynette Hudson): 97/100. A classic, pure, Loire-like wine on the nose with fragrant lemongrass, jasmine and redcurrant aromas and smoky complexity that keeps unfolding with time in the glass. It's so concentrated as to almost taste sweet initially. The palate is viscous and potent, has a remarkable texture with striking power and length. Very impressive and worth making a fuss about.

This stunning white is aromatic, fresh and intense, with notes of lemon curd, yuzu, peach, ripe melon and honeysuckle that are effortless and mouthwatering, backed by lemongrass and candied ginger notes on the long, expressive finish. Gourmet Traveller Wine: Top New Release New Zealand Whites: 95/100. This is an intense sauvignon blanc with passionfruit/guava flavours that contrast nicely with lime juice, green capsicum and lemongrass. Vibrant acidity adds some welcome tension. Classy wine with appealing purity and an impressively lingering finish.

Bob Campbell, MW (The Real Review): 93/100. Concentrated, punchy sauvignon blanc with grapefruit, passionfruit, green capsicum, lemongrass and guava flavours supported by fruity acidity. A textural wine with good weight and a lingering finish.

VINOUS - Rebecca Gibb MW: 93/100. Classic yet classy. It is richly aromatic yet not flamboyant, with good purity of fruit: expect flavors of black currant and nectarine alongside subtle tropical fruit and citrus. Due to a naturally low-yielding season, it offers impressive concentration and a ripe, succulent midpalate. The fine, mouthwatering acidity provides length and line on the zesty, passionfruit-infused, lightly structured finish.

Weinbereitung: Die Trauben für den Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc 2021 wurden nur sanft gepresst und anschließend zum größten Teil in Edelstahltanks kaltvergoren. Der kleinere Teil vergor mit Wildhefe in alten Eichenfässern. Beides lagerte auf dem Hefebett und wurde Ende Juni zusammengeführt. Mitte August in Flaschen abgefüllt.
